About
Our Story: From Sheffield Shield to Sunshine Coast
Founded by Rod Davison, a former New South Wales Sheffield Shield opening batsman, Rod Davison Cricket Coaching brings a legacy of professional cricket to the Sunshine Coast. Having played alongside icons like Mark Taylor, Steve Waugh, and Glenn McGrath in the 1990s, Rod transitioned from a professional player to a Cricket Australia Level 3 High Performance Coach. After relocating from Brisbane in 2019, he established a premier coaching platform, blending his elite playing experience with a passion for developing the next generation of cricketers in a vibrant regional hub.
Our Mission: Elevating Talent Through Expertise
At the core of our work is a commitment to unlocking the potential of every cricketer, from aspiring juniors to seasoned players. As Director of Coaching at Matthew Flinders Anglican College and Caloundra Cricket Club, Rod designs programs that combine technical precision, tactical insight, and mental resilience. Through 1-on-1 sessions, small group clinics, and high-performance youth academies, we provide tailored coaching and competitive opportunities, like the Trans-Tasman Youth Cricket League, to help players excel against top-tier opposition.
Our Impact: Building a Cricket Community
Rod Davison Cricket Coaching is more than a training program—it’s a movement to strengthen cricket on the Sunshine Coast. By fostering local talent through initiatives like the International Cricket Academy League and recruiting players for U15 and U18 tournaments, we’ve seen athletes grow in skill and confidence, elevating their performance in school, club, and representative teams. Our vision is to create a lasting legacy, making the Sunshine Coast a recognized cradle for cricket excellence.
